Q. What is a mailing list?

A. Back in old days, like prior to 1995, communication amongst Toastmasters members was limited to in person meetings and this thing called the telephone, which is still used by some people today.  With the commercialization of the Internet, e-mail has become the most efficient way to communicate with members.  Mailing lists, make it even easier and more efficient.

A mailing list is a single e-mail address that distributes a message to all its members.  Therefore, each member no longer must maintain their own list of member's e-mails -- since very often these lists are not complete or inaccurate.  With a FTH mailing list, the included e-mail addresses are taken directly from the member database.  As long as the webmaster (or VP membership) keeps the database up to date, the mailing list will be accurate.
